TikTok rolls out ‘Promote’ ad option

We’ve all seen the astronomical growth of TikTok over the last few years, reaching 1 billion monthly users worldwide, it’s no wonder brands increasingly want a piece of the action. Luckily for them, the entertainment platform has now taken a step to roll-out a Boost-like ‘Promote’ option for all business users. The aim of this is to make it easier for businesses to reach more users and help grow their online community through either one of these three objectives; more video views, more website visits or more followers. So, how does it work? With Promote, similar to Facebook’s boost button, you can turn any organic TikTok video into an ad directly through the app which allows you to reach new audiences, build a following and drive traffic to your business using either ‘Automatic’ or ‘Custom’ targeting. This could have a big impact for brands using the channel as they’ll no longer have to commit to huge campaign moments and can instead be a lot more reactive and agile. It’s also worth noting, however, that this feature restricts videos using copy-protected music from being promoted, so if you’re looking to jump on one of the many TikTok trends that use a popular track you will be unable to amplify it. Instagram says goodbye to ‘swipe-up’ links

It’s out with the old and in with the new as we gear up to say goodbye to Instagram’s trusted swipe-up links and hello to the story ‘Link’ sticker. The popular feature currently allows businesses and high-profile creators to seamlessly drive traffic to a website, a product, a petition or just about anything of their choosing. Now in place of this feature, the platform is introducing a new link sticker which essentially has the same core function, though holds some key advantages such as greater creator control, favours user interactivity and allows viewers to react and reply to Stories that include this feature, something that was not possible with Instagram’s previous swipe-up link.

Facebook tests new Reels display

As we continue to see TikTok gain momentum, Facebook has brought in a new tested feature to capitalise on the ever growing short-form video trend through the introduction of Facebook Reels. This feature will allow users to share Instagram Reels within the main Facebook app, as well as create them within their Newsfeed. This expansion comes as no surprise following multiple Reels/short-form video tests the platform has carried out over the last few months, though if things take off, we could see older audience groups more enticed to join in on this trend. We’ll be keeping a watchout for this one.

The Lindahls social team has also been gearing up to announce the arrival of the new Protein Pudding range. The launch was first announced on Lindahls social channels, receiving an overwhelming response from their loyal fan base, which will shortly be followed by a social competition where followers will be given a chance to win their very own stash of Chocolate and Vanilla puddings. Keep an eye out on for a chance to enter! Plus, we’ve been busy working with our Team Lindahls to celebrate the launch by sending out bespoke influencer drops so they can share the buzz on social.
