On Track For A Unique Dining Experience

Our client First Great Western recently teamed up with award winning restaurateur and fishmonger Mitch Tonks for the launch of an all-new lunch and dinner menu - on the UK's only daily fine dining rail service.

And with the Pullman service setting First Great Western apart from all other train travel operators in the UK, the team were particularly excited to see it at first hand as we worked with Mitch for the media launch event.

The food is all locally sourced, in some instances within touching distance of the railway line - including fish from Mitch’s local Brixham market in Devon, burrata cheese from Laverstoke Farms in Hampshire, fillet steak from Somerset, scallops from Devon and Somerset quince jelly.

The wines, meanwhile, include Knightor Trevannion from Cornwall, and have all been personally chosen by Mitch from his own restaurant wine list, to complement each dish.

Mitch said: “The Pullman Dining car has been providing passengers with a quality dining experience for years and it’s great to be working with First Great Western again to continue this tradition - and create a menu which showcases the best the region has to offer.”
